How It Works
When you visit Dr. Eshom’s San Diego office for a cosmetic consultation, we will use a digital or intraoral camera to take a picture of your smile and scan the surfaces of your mouth. Several images of your smile and teeth will be visible on the computer screen, and you can use these visual aids to point out the flaws you wish to correct. As Dr. Eshom discusses possible treatments, he will alter an image to reflect the changes that are possible with each treatment. If you don’t like what you see, tell him, and he’ll go back to square one and try a different approach or treatment. During your session, Dr. Eshom will try to understand what you hope to accomplish with cosmetic dentistry, and will work with you to create the smile you’ve always wanted.
Cosmetic Imaging for Porcelain Veneers and Bonding
With treatments like porcelain veneers and bonding, there are several visible features that can be altered. These treatments can change the size, shape, angle, color and translucency of the teeth. Some patients prefer a more uniformly squared edge to the teeth, while others prefer some natural variety in tooth shape. If you are only having two teeth treated, for example, you will want to see the projected shape of the treated teeth, so you can see the overall effect in your smile.
